We are a friendly non profit making indoor bowls club.We would welcome new members, beginners can be given free instruction, experienced players are welcome. Our season runs from late September to April each year but you can contact us at any time to receive information. We run friendly leagues within the club as well as "spoons" competitions and other friendly games. To join a league we need to hear from you by August as the teams are drawn in September. You don't have to join a league, there is "free" bowling when you play with whoever else is there at the time - it is all good fun and healthy exercise.

The aim of the Falls Clinic is to see any patient who has fallen and to reduce the risk of further falls by carrying out a medical, physical and environmental assessment. Following referral you will have had a home assessment completed by a health professional. All patients will be given an appointment to attend the Falls Clinic at Alderney Hospital. An ongoing plan of treatment and education will be developed with you for you to continue at home to increase your confidence and reduce your fear of and risk of falling. Ongoing support and follow-up is provided by the Elderley Resource Team at Woodlands.

Provides community social work support of lone parents and families with disabilities in either adults or children or both. Group for single parents meets every Thursday 10.15am to 12.15pm at the St Johns centre Shelly Rd Boscombe. Thi group offers a change to make new friends, information, confidential advice and support and regular outings, etc. Barrier breakers - goup for parents of a child o children with learning difficulties, a dissability impairment, or long term illness. Provides a chance for parents to talk, share ideas and information with other parents. Meets on the second Tuesday of each month from 10.30 am to 12 noon. In the Hall of Boscombe Baptist Church on the corner or Gladstone and Palmerstone Rd. Parents of Children Who Care - group for parents with disabilities, who get togther to offer support to one another. Raises awareness about the needs of children and young people who have a caring role and who assume responsibility for their parents.
