The RNLI exists to save lives at sea. It provides on call a 24 hour service necessary to cover and search and rescue requirements to 50 miles out from the coast of the United Kingdom and the Republic Of Ireland. works within a 30 mile radius of bournemouth with a network of volunteers who provide short term foster care In their own homes. This enables the dogs to be assessed in a way that would not be possible in a kennel environment. As the back ground of a dog is not always known there is a policy of not homing with families who have small children. There is a no destruction policy no healthy animal is ever put to sleep which means that as well as rehoming dogs that are to ill or to old to be rehomed are looked after in long term foster homes. Foster homes sponsorship of the oldies and donations are always needed.

This team is a partnership between Poole Primary Care Trust and the Borough of Poole Social Services, which provides specialist rehabilitation for the older person in Poole. Caters for In home and outpatients.
